Fantastic hotel for the price. I was travelling alone so willing to gamble on somewhere that might not be the best place as my partner wasn't coming - but she'd have been more than happy with it. It's in a great location near many bars and restaurants, and with three metro stations within 10-15 minutes walk. I walked everywhere - to the White House etc and they were all nice walks.

The corridors look very dated, but my room was perfectly up-to-date, spotlessly clean, had a decent bathroom and excellent air-conditioning. The bed was very comfortable.

The staff on reception that I spoke to were a delight, particularly the South African chap. They received multiple deliveries for me in the weeks before I arrived with zero fuss, and everything was as it should be when I collected them.

I booked many months in advance and the only places cheaper were MILES out of the city or dorm beds in hostels, so the District was amazing value.

I would 100% stay again.

We decided to stay here at the last minute to be closer to downtown Washington DC, and we were not disappointed. It is about 10-minute walk to the nearest subway, and buses located near by. We arrived ealry and on arrival we were upgraded to a double room that was located in the basement which was perfect for myself and my daughter. The room was clean, and the bathroom was good size. The only downside was the air conditioner was quite noisy. This hotel is perfect if you are just needing somewhere to sleep.

The hotel is great, we stayed in a room with two double beds, very spacious, large bathroom, with closet and hangers and plenty of space. Noisy heater and air conditioning, but I like it because it helps me sleep. On the second floor there is a free ice machine and next door there is a machine with treats for $1.50. The elevator is quite old, but it helps a lot when going up with your suitcases. There is a microwave, coffee, powdered milk and tea at the hotel reception. They store your bags at no additional cost. Well located, there is a pharmacy, supermarket, snack bars, bars and restaurants nearby. Easy access to public transport.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel Friday to Monday and found it to be conveniently located and confortable. Room was spacious and it was serviced daily, it was also quite, which was a plus. Staff is very friendly.
Buses 52 and 54 will take you to The Mall and Monuments, or if weather is nice, you can walk.

I discovered this hotel in 2013 and have stayed there with every visit to D.C. Prior to finding this Gem, I paid a fortune for Hotels without the Personality this hotel has nor the excellent location. I have wrote reviews before for this Hotel and am doing so again because I am shocked by the negative reviews I have read. The staff has always been very nice to me and also accomodating. Twice I only had a reservation for myself when my daughter showed up. They changed my room to two double beds and did not charge me any extra. And both times it was the height of tourist season but they still did this for me. Stay at the District. I will be there in Jan. 2021 for the P.I.C. coverage. Hope to see you there.
